Turks and Caicos (North Caicos)

Turks and Caicos is an archipelago of 40 low-lying coral islands in the Atlantic Ocean, a British Overseas Territory southeast of the Bahamas. The gateway island of Providenciales, known as Provo, is home to expansive Grace Bay Beach, with luxury resorts, shops and restaurants. Scuba-diving sites include a 14-mile barrier reef on Provo’s north shore and a dramatic 2,134m underwater wall off Grand Turk island.

North Caicos is part of the Turks and Caicos Islands, which is directly East of Providenciales (the main Island)

North Caicos is very secluded and serene.  The picturesque aqua water is stunning.  we rolled the dice, and we end up loving North Caicos.  North Caicos may not be for everyone…if you’re looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation to escape from busy city life…this place is amazing.  Not an abundance of hotels so we booked on Air BNB (you can also search on VRBO or Home Away) there’s beautiful villas for rent directly on the beach (we were 30 steps from the deck on the villa to the water)…click over images below for link to villa.  Whitby Beach seems to be where most of the villas are located:

If you rent a car while on North Caicos, explore North Caicos and take the drive to Middle Caicos (across the causeway) and stop in Mundjin Harbour for lunch or dinner and a swim.

For the most part while on North Caicos, enjoy the relaxation and beautiful scenery.  Enjoy the long walks on the beach (I know that sounds like a dating web-site) but it’s a nice walk along the shoreline and of course jumping in the ocean along the way and enjoying the miles of beach.
